SCORE makes remediation of contaminated sites more sustainable!

Posted at February 10, 2016 | Categories : News |

Remediation of contaminated sites involves difficult trade-offs when trying to find sustainable solutions that minimize risks to both humans and the environment, to a reasonable cost. So far an analytical tool for assessing environmental, social and economic aspects of remediation alternatives has been lacking.

Now, based on the multi-criteria decision analysis method, the SCORE (Sustainable Choice Of REmediation) tool has been developed with the purpose to assess the sustainability of remediation alternatives for contaminated sites.

Two scientific papers have been published describing the development of SCORE and also presenting results from case studies in Sweden. Enveco participated in the research together with Chalmers University of Technology (Gothenburg), NCC Construction (Gothenburg) and the Swedish Geotechnical Institute (Stockholm).
